Grassroots Rising: Community Radio’s Power in APAC at ADE
About the event
EMC & Mixmag Asia Present Grassroots Rising: Community Radio’s Power in APAC at ADE as part of the Nighttime Lab 2025 program on Saturday 25 October from 5pm-7pm CET.
A cultural exchange spanning the underground networks that connect Asia-Pacific’s diverse scenes. Community radio operators, DJs, and cultural architects from across the region come together to explore how these vital platforms have evolved into something far beyond broadcasting—they’re incubators for emerging talent, sanctuary spaces for marginalised voices, and the essential infrastructure of grassroots movements.
Through live conversations and curated music from across the region, discover how community radio has become the connective tissue linking underground scenes across the vast distances across APAC, creating new pathways for collaboration and cultural dialogue that traditional media doesn’t reach. This isn’t nostalgia for radio’s golden age—it’s an examination of how community frequencies are shaping the future of cultural movements in APAC, in real time.
