Meet the Artists Selected for EMC’s ‘Recording to Revenue’ Workshop Series

We’re excited to announce the ten artists selected to take part in EMC’s Recording to Revenue Workshop Series– a three-part series designed to support electronic music artists through the full journey of making, releasing, and monetising music.

Held across three full-day sessions in August at the City of Sydney Creative Studios (CoSCS), the Recording to Revenue workshop series will guide participants through music creation and completion, release preparation, metadata management, and revenue optimisation. Each session will be led by experienced industry professionals, bringing practical knowledge and real-world insights to support artists in building sustainable, forward-thinking careers in music.

The response to our Expressions of Interest was overwhelming, and we’re grateful to everyone who applied. After a careful selection process by EMC’s team and workshop partners, the following ten artists have been selected to participate:

CA LOU

CA LOU has quickly risen through Australia’s electronic music scene with her dynamic, genre-blending sets and high-energy performances at events like Wildlands, Splendour in the Grass, and Lost Sundays. Now balancing studio time with live shows, she’s gearing up for upcoming releases and international expansion, making her one to watch.

Cassette

Cassette delivers groove-laden, genre-fluid sets with deep rolling basslines, jacking 90s house, and a touch of acid. With roots in jazz and soul, she’s played internationally at Renate Berlin, Burning Man, and recently in Hanoi. Following her collaborative release ‘Gospel Sauce’ with Caleb Jackson on Sweatrz, she’s currently working towards her debut solo release on Bodywork—the label she co-founded with Dani B alongside their celebrated party series.

Command D

With releases on Aus labels Animalia, Pure Space and Body Promise, as well as a slew of self released gems in his bag, Command D has managed to refine a sound that shines beyond his years. We know the word ‘deep’ gets thrown around a lot, especially when describing anything with a sub bass focus, but Command D has found a niche in which he truly embodies a sense of depth.

Gerald Wala

Gerald Wala is a Zimbabwean-born producer and DJ/artist based in Sydney, Australia, known for his soulful blend of R&B, jazz, soul, hip hop, UK garage, and leftfield club music. Rooted in a love for crate-digging and live instrumentation, his sound fuses swing-filled drums and warm textures into groove-heavy beats that move between laid-back and dancefloor-ready.

GNOMU

GNOMU is a Sydney based DJ, producer and multi-instrumentalist making bass-heavy music across genres such as Dubstep, Trap, and Drum and Bass, with influences from R&B and Rap. Since breaking into the scene, she has performed in Sydney’s top venues and supported artists like Riot Ten, Sippy and Calcium. She is currently working on a collaboration with Sydney rapper Jacobi, alongside her debut EP.

Middle James

Middle James is the collaborative project of multi-instrumentalists Sam James Weeks and Connor James Mackenzie, blending deep house, broken rhythms, and jazz improvisation into warm, groove-led productions. As performers, label heads, and curators behind Strange Cadence, the duo is shaping a new movement in expressive, genre-blurring club music.

Mikekon

Mikekon is a DJ, producer, and founder of WIP Music, with two decades in Eora/Sydney’s underground scene and a deep-rooted influence from New York, Chicago, and Detroit pioneers. A key figure behind soulful house party House Your Soul, he’s shared stages with legends like Louie Vega and Osunlade, shaping a sound that honours dance music’s roots while building inclusive community spaces.

Ritmiq

Ritmiq is a producer and a DJ, forever a student of sound and music, and a participant of underground electronic music and its vibrant community. His artistic expression revolves around intricate, percussive-tinged dance floor-focused electronic music. Combined with pulsating baselines, drawing inspiration from the roots of electronic music in the United States, as well as Afro-Latin and South American rhythms.

STTRUKII

STTRUKII has been carving a space for himself music making and DJ scenes for years, building a well deserved name for himself in various Sydney music communities. His back to the future style approach results in an innovative sound that pays homage to the roots of UK based dance music cultures.

Yasmina Sadiki

Yasmina Sadiki’s a seasoned force in Sydney’s live music scene, known for her boundary-pushing fusion of jazz, neo-soul, and hip hop. She received a 2023 FBi SMAC nominee for Best Live Act and has her performances include Sydney Opera House, and a headline support for Asha Puthli. Her previous collaborations include an early Kid Laroi release to emerging NYC artists, and currently she’s working on new original material, her first since her 2023 single ‘Bleed Out’.

These artists represent a diverse cross-section of NSW’s vibrant music community and were selected for their dedication to their craft, prior release experience, and their current momentum toward new originals, working towards releases by Q2, 2026.

In addition to the in-person workshops, the Recording to Revenue series will be accompanied by a set of digital toolkits containing industry advice, practical guides and templates to assist other artists on their own music making and release path. These resources will be available to the wider Australian music community in the coming weeks – stay tuned for release details.

A huge thank you to everyone who applied and to our partners for helping bring this workshop series to life. We can’t wait to kick things off this Saturday, and follow the journeys of these exciting artists as they take their next steps in releasing new music.
